This is an 8 year old Caol Ila from Islay, distilled in 2012 and bottled in 2020 by Wilson & Morgan at 60.5% ABV. It comes in a 70cl bottle and is the first release of its kind from the bottler.
The malt was finished in Oloroso sherry casks. The influence is deliberately light: a touch of Oloroso that adds a fuller, fruitier, juicier taste without a winey coat on the nose.
The nose is maritime and briny. On the palate, clean, dry, smoky spirit sits alongside ripe peaches, with fruity sweetness and piquant hints.
