This is an Islay single malt from Caol Ila, distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2025 after 11 years in a first fill Pedro Ximénez sherry hogshead. It belongs to the Mystical Malt Creatures series from Murray McDavid.
It is bottled at a cask strength of 57.1%, non-chill-filtered and without added colouring, in a 70cl bottle.
The nose brings raisins, dark fruit and chocolate alongside strong sherry notes. On the palate the body is almost like a liqueur, with rich sweetness set against maritime peat smoke, plus toffee, dried fruit and spice. The finish is long, warm, sweet and smoky.
