This is a 25 year old Islay single malt from Caol Ila, drawn from a single cask at cask strength and bottled at 54.4% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The whisky matured from February 1990 to February 2015 and was bottled for the Mackillop's Choice range, with an outturn of 302 bottles.
On the nose it is smoky and fairly pungent, with gun-flint and seaweed. The palate is round and full, with pepper, gentle smoke and salt, leading to a dry, spicy finish.
