Catto's Rare Old is a 5 year old blended Scotch whisky from James Catto of Aberdeen, bottled at 40% in a 75cl bottle. It combines unpeated Highland and Speyside malts with Lowland grain whisky, with a high malt content for a blend of its kind.
The colour is golden honey. The nose is fragrant and bright, with fresh citrus, honey, vanilla and green apple. The palate is well-rounded, with caramel, pear, a touch of sherry and cinnamon spice.
The finish is medium in length, sweet and velvety, with cinnamon, pepper, creamy caramel and baked apple.
