Maris 2016 is a French whisky from Celtic Whisky Distillerie's Glann ar Mor range, matured for three years in Bourbon casks. It is bottled at 46% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The nose opens with thick, oily peat, then turns dry and mildly fruity with a hint of grass. With time in the glass it becomes sweeter, with sponge cake, wax, linseed oil, dried apple, straw bale and vanilla. The palate is gentle yet fresh, with crisp, grassy malt and subtle herbal-tea flavours.
