Château d'Yquem 2023 Sauternes (75cl)

Château d'Yquem 2023 is a sweet Sauternes from the only estate awarded Premier Grand Cru Supérieur in the 1855 classification. The grapes are picked in successive selections, taking only berries affected by noble rot, and the wine is aged in new barrels. The 2023 growing season began with a tropical spring and extreme summer heat broken by rainfall, before settled weather at the end of September allowed optimal ripening. Harvest ran from 14 September to 11 October. It sits between the freshness of 2021 and the power of 2022. On the nose it shows pineapple, guava, mango, confit citrus, beeswax and spices. The palate is full-bodied, dense and concentrated, with lively acidity and a crystalline texture, leading to a long, refined finish.
