Château d'Yquem is a Sauternes classified 1er Cru Supérieur, made from a selection of sémillon and sauvignon blanc. It ferments and ages for around 26 to 28 months in new barriques before bottling.
Amber-gold in colour, it opens with almond, citron, pineapple, pear, Agen prune and mandarin, followed by candied orange and lemon over strong floral notes.
The palate has impact, with a fine balance between acidity and sweetness, and the finish persists well.
