Château Rieussec Sauternes (75cl)

Château Rieussec is a sweet white wine from the Sauternes appellation, in a 75cl bottle. The estate belongs to the Rothschild family and sits on gravel soils, with a microclimate that encourages Botrytis cinerea, the noble rot behind good Sauternes. The colour is a bright gold. The nose carries candied fruit, honey and white flowers. On the palate it is rich and unctuous, balanced by a fresh, tangy acidity, and the finish is long and persistent. It pairs with fruit tarts, foie gras and blue cheeses, and is best served lightly chilled, at around 10 to 12°C.
