Chequers Over 12 Years "The Superb" is a 12 year old blended Scotch whisky bottled at 40% ABV by John McEwan & Co Ltd. It is a deluxe blend from the 1970s, sold mainly in Italy, and a sister brand to Abbot's Choice.
The nose opens with metallic, slightly green wood, then liquorice and caramel come through with time. The palate is creamy and fruitier than expected, with pear, Granny Smith apple, peppery warmth, sweet wood, cinnamon and vanilla. The finish is long and soft, fruity with melted wood tones and a lingering spice.
