Chianti Classico DOCG Castello di Lamole

This Chianti Classico DOCG comes from Fattoria di Lamole in the hills between Florence and Siena. It is made from Sangiovese grown on clay and limestone soils. Traditional vinification includes extended maceration, followed by ageing in oak barrels. In the glass it is intense ruby red with garnet reflections. The nose shows black cherry, blackberry, spice, leather and a light touch of vanilla. On the palate it is balanced, with mature tannins and lively freshness, and the finish is long and aromatic. It suits roasts, game and aged cheeses.
