Chicken Cock is a bourbon brand established in 1856 in Paris, Bourbon County, Kentucky. It was a staple of Prohibition-era speakeasies, including the Cotton Club, faded after the Second World War and has since returned. This bottle is bottled at 90 proof.
It has a rich mahogany colour. The nose balances oak with dried fruit, caramel and vanilla. The palate opens with soft oak tannin and toasted oak, then turns creamy and almost buttery, with butterscotch and a slight bourbon heat. The finish recalls vanilla wafer.
