A blended Scotch whisky from Chivas Regal, aged for 12 years and bottled in the 1970s. It comes in a 13 fl oz bottle and has a full gold colour.
The nose opens with elegant smokiness, roasted chestnuts, vanilla pods and old orange liqueur. It then turns grassy, with notes of dry rocket or raw asparagus, before leather and a broad phenolic character arrive.
The palate is creamy, round and polished, with strawberry cake, quince, custard and oranges, alongside roasted nuts, dark praline, toffee and heavy liquorice. The finish is very long.
