This is Chivas Regal 12 Year Old, a blended Scotch whisky from the 1980s. It has a pale gold colour.
The nose is herbal and slightly mineral, with smoke, bread, barley, leather, tobacco, overripe apples and honey, along with hints of bone marrow and vegetable bouillon.
The palate brings oranges, cider apples, dried pears, brioche and plenty of honey, then a little cough syrup and smoke, with a full, creamy mouthfeel. The finish is long and honeyed, fruity and liqueur-like.
