This is a 1980s bottling of Chivas Regal 12, a blended whisky in a one quart bottle at 86 proof, the US strength. The colour is gold.
The nose is meaty, with old basement, soot and old wine cellar. The palate brings meaty honey, old Tokaji, glazed chestnuts, panettone, stollen, fruitcake, dried apricots and a little halva or turron. The finish is long and a touch salty, with a note of honey and wine sauce.
