Chivas Regal Extra 13 Year Old is a blended Scotch whisky matured entirely in first-fill Oloroso sherry casks.
The nose leads with stewed orchard fruit and sherried dried fruit, with polished oak and caramelised nuts beneath, and vanilla and warm spice appearing as it opens. On the palate it is smooth and rounded, with vanilla fudge, pear and blackberry crumble, baking spice, frangipane and toffee apple.
The finish is long and gently spiced, with a touch of tobacco and dry sweetness.
