This is Chivas Royal Salute 21 Year Old, a blended Scotch whisky bottled in the 1990s in a ruby-coloured Wade porcelain flagon. The 1 litre bottle is at 40% ABV.
The flagon pays tribute to the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II and belongs to a collectible series inspired by precious stones.
The nose offers dried fruits, sherry warmth and toasted oak, with fig, plum, dark chocolate, subtle floral notes and a touch of nutmeg and cinnamon. The palate is velvety and full-bodied, with toffee, walnut, blackcurrant, leather, gentle smoke and spiced honey. The finish is long and warming, with raisin, dark cocoa and soft spice.
