Claxton's Ardnamurchan 8 Year Old is a single cask Highland single malt, distilled in 2017 and bottled in 2025 at 57.6% ABV. The independent bottler Claxton's chose it for its Warehouse No. 1 series, and it was matured in a bourbon cask.
On the nose, smoke comes first, with black pepper, green apple, freshly cut grass and a hint of liquorice, softened by vanilla, cake and sweet malt from the cask. The palate is full, oily and powerful, with a maritime character, a light saltiness, firm smoke and peppery spice that carry into a long finish.
