Clonakilty 14 Year Old Single Grain Amontillado Sherry Cask Finish (70cl, 48%)

This is a 14 year old Irish single grain whiskey from Clonakilty's Cask Finish Series, batch 004, of 1,400 bottles at 48%. It matured first in ex-bourbon casks and then received a finish in Amontillado sherry casks. It is non-chill-filtered, with no added colour. The spirit was not distilled at Clonakilty. The distillery, founded in County Cork in 2016 by the Scully family, took charge of the cask finishing and bottled it. Ripe dark fruit leads the nose, followed by chocolate, nuts and a little caramel. The palate brings ripe fruit, firm oak spice, caramel, malt, roasted nuts and fresh coffee. The finish is medium to long and spicy, with nutty notes.
