Clynelish – 14 Year Old (70cl, 46%)

Clynelish 14 Year Old is a Highland single malt from the Classic Malts series, an original bottling at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is not chill-filtered, though colouring has been added. The distillery's style is waxy and coastal. Citrus, apple and vanilla sit alongside dried flowers and brown sugar, with spice and oak adding a drier edge and a faint trace of smoke. With a little water, the nose offers candle wax and dried flowers with a seaside note, and brown sugar follows. The palate is creamy and maritime. The finish is long, salty and fairly dry, with slight bitterness and lingering fresh fruit.
