A single cask Clynelish from the Highlands, bottled by Signatory Vintage on 16 October 2018 at 22 years old and 54.2% ABV. The whisky is from the 1995 vintage and was matured in a refill sherry butt, yielding 602 bottles of 70cl. It is a friendship bottling for Whisk(e)y Shop Tara and Brühler Whiskyhaus.
The nose combines sherry, raspberries and sour cherries with milky coffee, espresso and a little cocoa, then more oak with time. On the palate there are classic oloroso notes, a powerful arrival with spicy oak, ginger tea, mint chocolate, caramel, oranges, apple peel and dried fruit, mainly dates and apricots. The finish is long and sweet with candied orange peel and honey, turning dry and oaky.
