Colonel E.H. Taylor 9 Year Old Single Barrel Select WHA #2 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey (75cl, 50%)

This is a single barrel Kentucky straight bourbon from Colonel E.H. Taylor, bottled at 50% (100 proof, Bottled-in-Bond) in a 75cl bottle. The barrel was selected in Kentucky during a 2025 barrel-picking tour, alongside Freddie, a third-generation Buffalo Trace employee. It was filled on 29 March 2016 and matured for 9 years and 4 months in Warehouse P, on Floor 3. It is described as combining deep mature oak, rye spice and dark sweetness, powerful and layered without too much tannin or heat. The nose is rich caramel, toasted oak, vanilla bean, butterscotch, dried figs and subtle baking spices. The palate is full-bodied, with brown sugar, tobacco leaf, dark spice, honey, leather and sweet corn. The finish is long and warming, with oak, cinnamon, vanilla and caramel.
