Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Barrel Proof Batch 16 (75cl, 63.6%)

Batch 16 of the Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Barrel Proof is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace in Frankfort. It is bottled from hand-selected barrels at cask strength, 127.3 proof, with no water added and unfiltered. The range honours Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr., who built the Old Fashioned Copper Distillery, now Buffalo Trace, in the 1870s and campaigned for the Bottled-in-Bond Act of 1897. Each Barrel Proof release is numbered, and this is the sixteenth. The nose is rich caramel, oak and warm baking spice. The palate is full and intense, with dark caramel, vanilla, toasted oak and pepper, and the finish is long and warming.
