Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Bottled-in-Bond Bourbon Antique Collection is a Kentucky straight bourbon from Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, bottled at 100 proof (50% ABV) in a 750ml bottle after 15 years and 4 months in oak.
It was distilled in spring 2010 from Buffalo Trace Mash Bill #1, a low-rye recipe, and matured in new white oak barrels with a deep number 4 char, drawn from seven different warehouses.
The tasting notes describe vanilla, butterscotch and maple on the nose with baked apple and spice, a palate of caramel, cinnamon and tobacco leaf, and a long finish of seasoned oak, soft caramel and dried fruit.
Tasting Notes
Vanilla, butterscotch, seasoned oak and maple, with baked apple, nutmeg and clove
Sweet vanilla and caramel, then cinnamon, nutmeg, tobacco leaf, spiced apple and citrus peel
Long and warming, with oak, vanilla, soft caramel, dried fruit and a hint of cherry
