Compagnie des Indes Dominican Republic 13 Year Old Rum (70cl, 46%)

A dark blended rum from several Dominican distilleries, distilled in 2003 and bottled in 2017. It is made from molasses and matured in American white oak casks. The single cask release is limited to 358 bottles. The nose suggests vanilla, elderflower and chocolate; the palate is rich and honeyed, followed by roasted notes, bitter almonds, elderberry and grapes, with fruity, sweet and bitter elements; the finish brings nuts and dry grapes.
