Crimson Casks is a small batch blended malt from Compass Box, first created in 2024 and bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It was assembled by former Compass Box whiskymaker James Saxon from single malts from Glen Moray, Benrinnes, Teaninich and a distillery near the town of Aberlour. Most of the whiskies were matured or finished in first fill Oloroso sherry butts, in keeping with the richer, sherry-matured side of whisky that the blend celebrates. It is described as rich and nutty, with sherry leading the character.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
