Flaming Heart 2018 Edition is a smoky blended malt from Compass Box, bottled at 48.9% ABV.
It combines maritime malts from Caol Ila and Talisker with a gentler, spicy element from Highland whiskies, and French oak is used to add depth and texture.
The nose brings peat smoke, dark spices, sea salt, ginger and creamy vanilla. On the palate there is powerful smoke, peppery warmth, citrus oil, spicy oak and a soft sweetness. The finish is long, smoky and slightly oily, with smoke and spice running together.
