Flaming Heart 7th Edition is a 2022 blended malt from Compass Box, bottled at 48.9% ABV. The whiskies come from Caol Ila, Talisker, Laphroaig and Balmenach, and were matured in first-fill bourbon casks, refill bourbon casks and French oak.
Peat smoke leads on the nose, with roasted herbs, sea salt, vanilla and warm wood spices. The palate adds pepper, citrus, creamy toffee and dark spices, with a little sweetness from the French oak. The finish is long, smoky and spicy.
