Compass Box Flaming Heart Batch 7 (70cl, 48.9%)

Flaming Heart Batch 7 is a blended malt Scotch whisky from Compass Box, bottled at 48.9% in a 70cl bottle. This batch was made in 9540 bottles. The idea behind Flaming Heart is to bring peaty whisky together with heavily toasted virgin French oak. For this batch the recipe includes Laphroaig, Talisker and Caol Ila, with generous parts of Glen Elgin and Balmenach and a small amount of Highland Park. The previous batch appeared in 2018. The nose is energetic, with smouldering peat embers, cigar wrapper and candied ginger. The palate is oily, smoky, rich and savoury.
