Compass Box Peat Monster Arcana (2020)

Peat Monster Arcana is a 2020 limited edition from Compass Box, a blend of Islay and Island malts that includes Laphroaig and Caol Ila, with a touch of Highland malt. The whisky spent a further two years in heavily toasted French oak, a cask experiment that adds spice and structure to the smoky Peat Monster style. The nose brings deep peat smoke, incense, spicy oak, cocoa, sea salt and dark citrus. On the palate there is smoke, black pepper, ash, vanilla and roasted nuts, and the finish is long, smoky and spicy with a warm woody note.
