Compass Box Synthesis (70cl, 50%)

Synthesis is a blended Scotch whisky from Compass Box, part of its Collection Antipodes and bottled for La Maison du Whisky. It is bottled at 50% ABV in a 70cl bottle, from an outturn of 6,000 bottles. The blend brings together two single grain whiskies, two Highland single malts and two Speyside single malts. The nose starts fresh and subtle before peat, ginger, cinnamon, verbena and light fruit arrive. The palate is lively, with earthy notes, pepper, nutmeg, smoke, ashes and tiger balm alongside honey, almond and vanilla. The finish is dry, with peat, minerality, tobacco, white grapes, star anise and malt.
