The General is a 33-year-old blended Scotch whisky from Compass Box, created by founder John Glaser and bottled in 2013 at 53.4% in a 70cl bottle. It is a limited edition of 1,698 bottles. It was made from two very old parcels of whisky that had each been marrying for many years, and matured in bourbon and sherry casks. The nose offers polished oak, dried fruit, dark toffee, Christmas cake, figs and honey. The palate is full-bodied, with treacle, old leather, nutmeg and oak. The finish is very long, with spice, dried fruit and sherried character.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
