The Last Vatted Malt is a blended malt Scotch whisky released by Compass Box in 2011 to mark the end of the term "vatted malt", after changes to Scotch whisky regulations required the label "blended malt". It is a limited edition in a 70cl bottle. It was assembled from two parcels of single malt: Aberlour 1974 from a first-fill sherry butt, and Caol Ila 1984 from American oak hogsheads. It was bottled at a natural cask strength of 53.7%, without chill filtration and at natural colour. The palate brings dried fruits, dark chocolate, tobacco, spice and gentle peat smoke, followed by a long, warming finish.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
