Compass Box The Spaniard

The Spaniard is a blended malt from Compass Box, made with whiskies aged in Spanish wine casks, including former Sherry casks. The name nods to the founder's chance meeting with a man in the South of Spain, who introduced them to Sherry for the first time. It is released in batches, with the batch number on the back label. The nose is ripe blood orange and toasted vanilla pod, with fresh malt in the background. The palate brings sponge cake, chocolate chip and raisin cookies and almond, and the finish carries dried cherry, cinnamon and menthol.
