The Spice Tree from Compass Box is a blended malt built around Highland malts including Clynelish, Dailuaine and Teaninich. This is the 2018 edition.
It was matured in first-fill bourbon casks together with a portion of French oak, which gives it a creamy texture and a deep spiciness.
The nose offers cinnamon, cloves, vanilla, citrus oil, soft oak and a hint of honey. The palate is full and spicy, with ginger, pepper, vanilla cream, toffee, citrus and warm wood. The finish is long and warm, spicy, sweet and creamy.
