Transistor is a blended malt from Compass Box, released in 2019 as a limited edition made in collaboration with BrewDog. It was developed to sit alongside BrewDog's Jet Black Heart stout.
The whisky matured in a mix of American oak and rejuvenated barrels, which brings out both sweet and gently spicy notes.
The nose offers ripe stone fruit, honey, citrus, soft spices and creamy vanilla. On the palate it is smooth and round, with toffee, apple, biscuit, light wood spice and a hint of citrus. The finish is medium to long, softly sweet and spicy.
