Compass Box Vellichor (2022)

Compass Box Vellichor is a blended malt created as an ode to the scent and atmosphere of old bookshops. It draws on long-matured malts from Highland Park, Macallan and Caol Ila, among others, together with older malts from private collections. The whisky was matured in sherry casks, refill hogsheads, bourbon casks and a small amount of French oak. It is a limited edition from 2022. The nose brings old leather, book dust, dried fruit, soft smoke, cocoa and spicy oak. On the palate come raisins, tobacco, dark chocolate, subtle peat and sherry sweetness. The finish is long and warm, with smoke, cocoa and old oak.
