Connacht Import Single Malt Irish Whiskey (70cl, 47%)

This is an Irish single malt from Connacht Import, bottled at 47% in a 70cl bottle. The nose is light, fresh and fruity, with vanilla-apricot pastry, young barley, pear compote with star anise and cinnamon, candied apple, floral hints of geranium and a little toasted wood. The palate is sweet and peppery together, with anise, fennel seed, allspice, cloves, honey, candied green apple, cinnamon-simmered pears, almonds and mild toasted oak with vanilla. The finish is short, with pear, honey, nutmeg and anise, ending in powdered sugar and vanilla over dry toasted oak.
