Contratto For England Rosé is a 2018 sparkling rosé from Alta Langa in Piedmont, made from 100% Pinot Nero grown in the Bossolasco vineyard. The house was founded in 1867 in Canelli.
The juice stays briefly on the skins for a light salmon colour. First fermentation takes place in stainless steel, followed by about nine months of ageing, then a second fermentation and at least 36 months on lees. Riddling is done by hand.
The aromas are citrus peel and marzipan. The palate is intense and well structured, with peach, thyme and red fruits, lively acidity and a creamy, persistent mousse.
