Contratto Vermouth Rosso (75cl, 17%)

Contratto Vermouth Rosso is a sweet red vermouth made in Canelli, Piedmont. The base wine comes from 100% estate-grown Cortese grapes, fortified with grape-based spirit and flavoured with extracts of 31 herbs, spices, roots and seeds, among them coriander, cinnamon, gentian, bitter orange, rhubarb and sandalwood. The botanicals are crushed in a hammer mill and cold extracted over 20 days. The vermouth holds 180 grams of sugar per litre, has natural caramel added for colour and rests in stainless steel for 40 days. It is 17% vol. Aromas of black cherry cola, nutmeg and oregano lead to blackberry, gentian and spearmint, ending with white pepper, grapefruit and wormwood.
