This is a 15 year old single malt Irish whiskey from Cooley, distilled in 2002 and bottled in 2025 as release 18 of the Cut Your Wolf Loose series. It comes from a single bourbon hogshead and is bottled at 56.9% in a 70cl bottle. The label artwork is by Three Dogs. The cask came over from Ireland and nearly ran into trouble with HMRC, since ageing Irish whiskey in Scotland is not usually done. The nose has big apples, pear tarte tatin under icing sugar, honeycomb, malt biscuits and a gentle waxy note. The palate is thick and chewy with floral honey, baked apples and poached pears. The finish is long, warm and gently peppery, with honeyed malt and lemon zest.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
