Connemara is a peated single malt Irish whiskey, made at Cooley Distillery in County Louth and bottled at 40% ABV in a 70cl bottle. The malted barley is dried over peat from the Connemara region, giving a phenol level of roughly 14 to 15 PPM.
The whiskey is double-distilled in small copper pot stills and matured for four to five years in ex-bourbon casks.
Tasting notes mention heather freshness and floral tones, honeyed sweetness and a little wood, with vanilla and caramel over the smoke.
