Tyrconnell 10 Year Port Cask Finish is an Irish single malt whiskey from Cooley Distillery in County Louth, bottled at 46% ABV without chill filtration in a 75cl bottle.
The whiskey spends ten years in ex-bourbon barrels, then six to eight months in port casks from Portugal's Douro Valley. It is made from malted barley that is not peated.
Baked apple and fruit conserve show on the nose, with tropical fruit, honey and chocolate. The palate is jammy, with dried fruit, apricot, toffee, dark berry and marmalade. The finish is long and smooth, with vanilla, cinnamon and marmalade, then gentle oak.
