Tyrconnell 10 Year Sherry Cask Finish is an Irish single malt from Cooley Distillery in County Louth, bottled at 46% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is made from Irish malted barley, double distilled, and is non-chill filtered.
The whiskey spends ten years maturing, first in American oak bourbon barrels and then for six to eight months in Oloroso sherry casks.
The nose is warm sherry and raisins with apple, plum and roasted nuts. On the palate, plum and raisin richness meets vanilla, butterscotch and dried apricot. The finish is soft and lingering, with butterscotch and gentle oak.
