Tyrconnell Single Malt is an Irish whiskey made from 100% malted barley and double-distilled at Cooley Distillery in County Louth. It is bottled at 40% ABV in a 75cl bottle.
Double distillation, rather than the customary triple, is the choice behind its creamy, viscous texture on the palate.
The nose has roasted nuts and nougat, mild oak, malty fruit and a little citrus. The palate is honeyed and buttery, with orange pith, lemon, fudge and vanilla. The finish is medium, with a grainy edge, barley malt and a touch of citrus zest.
