Cotswolds Ex-Peated Quarter Cask is an English single malt from Cotswolds Distillery, a limited edition bottled at a batch strength of 59.3% ABV and unfiltered. It is made from the distillery's floor malted barley and matured in ex-peated quarter casks, smaller barrels that mature the spirit faster. The smoke comes from the cask rather than from peated barley.
The nose pairs bonfire smoke with orchard fruit and a hint of lemon sponge. The palate is intense and oily, with smoked stone fruit, peppered oak and vanilla. The finish is long, warm and drying, with embers of peat and roasted nuts.
