Cotswolds Odyssey Barley 2014 is the first single malt from the Cotswolds Distillery, a milestone for English whisky. It is made from Odyssey barley, matured in first-fill oak barrels and bottled in 2018 at 46% ABV. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose combines cut grass and morning dew with Victoria sponge, lemon curd, nectar honey, mango and nectarine, plus a little fresh wood shavings. The palate sets nutty oak, baked pears and lemon zest against marzipan and salted caramel. The finish is short and lively.
