Craigellachie 13 Year Old is a Speyside single malt bottled at 46% ABV. It is non-chill-filtered and has no added caramel colouring.
It begins in a mix of ex-bourbon and ex-sherry casks. Half of that vatting is then refined in first-fill sherry casks, while the other half goes into first-fill bourbon casks.
The nose is often compared to Bonfire Night: toasted marshmallows, fire-roasted pineapple and baked apples sprinkled with cloves, with a note of cordite in the background.
