Craigellachie 37 Year Old is a Speyside single malt from the Exceptional Cask Series, released in an edition of 3012 bottles. It was first aged in refill casks, then given a final maturation in first-fill ex-bourbon casks.
The nose opens with pineapple tarte tatin and crème anglaise, soft cereals and toasted banana bread. With water, faint fire embers appear before giving way to spicy vanilla and oak-derived coconut. The palate is boldly complex, starting with sweet acidity and mellowing to soft fruits and almonds, with a long finish.
