This is a 37 year old Craigellachie, a Speyside single malt in a 70cl bottle at 46.5%. It was distilled on 7 November 1984 and bottled in 2023 as a limited edition of 3,012 bottles, of which 300 were allocated to Germany.
After its long maturation in Scottish refill casks, it was finished in first fill ex-bourbon casks. It is non-chill-filtered and of natural colour.
The nose brings pineapple pastry, custard and warm banana bread with vanilla, desiccated coconut, ripe mango and polished oak. The palate is sweet and soft, with tropical fruit, honey and coconut, while the finish is long and warming, with toasted almonds, tropical fruit and a faint touch of smoke.
