Crimson Casks - Compass Box

Crimson Casks is a blended malt from Compass Box, put together from malts from Glen Moray, Benrinnes and Teaninich. The heart of the blend is whisky matured in first-fill Oloroso sherry-seasoned butts, joined by Spanish red wine casks and heavily toasted French oak. Together they give the whisky its ruby colour. The nose offers chocolate cake, cloves and cardamom, with a hint of redcurrant. On the palate come ripe plums, dark cherries, creamy toffee and the spice of French oak. The finish is long, with raisins, liquid honey and a touch of brown sugar.
